What is a E.max Crown?

dental crowns turkey

A Dental Crown is a dental restoration that completely covers a tooth or dental implant and it is typically fixed to the tooth using traditional dental cement. Crowns are recommended to cover teeth that are damaged, broken or worn down (Crowns are also considered to be a full Dental Veneer). In some cases where your existing teeth are abnormally shaped or you are unhappy with the general appearance of them they can be recommended for a smile makeover. Crowns can be sculptured to match your existing teeth, close gaps (bridge work) or create a new smile makeover. They have a longer life span when compared to other dental treatments such as Veneers & Lumineers. This makes them not only an alternative but a better investment. Dental Crowns can be aesthetically fabricated to reflect “light” like natural teeth, and mimic the shape, size and colour of the surrounding teeth. Your natural tooth underneath is preserved, protecting your natural tooth and gums for a longer period of time.

E.max© Crowns and bridges are so strong they can be used anywhere in the mouth. E.max© crowns can withstand the biting pressure of the front teeth as well as back teeth grinding.

E.max© Crowns are a type of all-ceramic Crown with an appealing translucent colour which is combined with extra strength and durability. This Crown is made from a single block of lithium ceramic: this is a top grade material which has been harvested for its toughness, durability and opaque qualities which makes it a highly prized Crown. It is considered a breakthrough in dental Crown technology. It is a glass ceramic Crown which is tough and enduring but delicate in appearance. The advantages of an E.max© Crown are that it is considered to be the best match with your own natural teeth. The transparent colour and lifelike shape ensures that it is unlikely to be noticed amongst your own natural teeth. There is no metal alloy base with this Crown which means no unsightly looking grey line around the gum line. They are strong, long lasting and unlikely to crack or fracture when compared too many other types of Crowns.

Colour Preference:
During your initial consultation you will be asked to choose your colour preference of your new Crowns. You can choose brilliant Hollywood white or a more natural white a few shades darker. The choice is up to you depending on the appearance you prefer. If you are only having Crowns on one or more teeth the dentist will match the colour with your surrounding teeth. If you are planning an overall brighter, whiter smile you can combine the treatment with Teeth Whitening.

Is the procedure painful?
No, you will have an injection to numb the area so you will not feel anything while your natural tooth is being prepared for the procedure. It should feel no different to having a filling.

How do I care for my dental Crown?
The Crown itself cannot decay, but decay can start where the edge of the Crown joins the tooth. Therefore, to prevent decay affecting the Crown, it is important to keep this area just as clean as you would your natural teeth. Brush two times a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Daily flossing is also very important to ensure the area between the Crown is clean.
